Philodendron White Measure
Philodendron ‘Birkin’ · Cultivated form; parent species from South America
The elegant Philodendron Birkin — deep green leaves finely striped with creamy white pinstripes that radiate from the center. A compact, upright, self-heading philodendron with a refined, modern look.
Available in 6 & 8 inchCare
Light
Place in medium to bright, indirect light. It does best in moderate lighting — bright enough to keep its white pinstripes crisp, out of harsh direct sun.
Water
Water when the top 2 inches of soil are dry, about once a week. Don’t let it sit in wet or soggy soil, which causes root rot.
Soil & Feeding
Rotate regularly for even growth and prune away any dead leaves. Fertilize every 2–4 weeks from spring to early fall with a diluted liquid houseplant fertilizer.

Philodendron ‘Birkin’ · sold here as White Measure
Philodendron White Measure is a name for the popular Philodendron Birkin, a self-heading (upright, non-climbing) philodendron whose parent species come from the rainforests of South America. Birkin actually arose as a spontaneous mutation of a red-leaved philodendron, and growers stabilized its beautiful pinstriped look.
Its signature is the variegation: glossy, deep green leaves finely striped with creamy white lines that fan out from the midrib, almost like brushstrokes. No two leaves are quite alike, and it occasionally throws a dramatic half-white or pink-blushed leaf.
It stays compact and tidy rather than vining, making it a neat tabletop or shelf plant. Give it medium to bright indirect light to keep the stripes crisp, water when the top couple of inches dry, and feed lightly in the growing season.
Refined and modern, it’s an easy way to add pattern to a shelf — just keep it away from pets and children, as philodendrons are toxic if chewed.
