Masson Farms of New Mexico operates one of the largest geothermal-heated greenhouse facilities in the U.S. — roughly 24 acres of climate-controlled growing space in Radium Springs, producing 30+ categories of potted plants.
Position Summary
The Water Technician supports the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the farm’s industrial reverse osmosis (RO) system and the greenhouse irrigation and water treatment infrastructure. Consistent, high-quality water is critical to plant health at Masson Farms, and this role keeps large-scale water systems running reliably and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and log daily performance of the industrial RO system, including feed pressure, permeate flow, recovery rate, and conductivity/TDS readings.
- Perform routine maintenance: membrane cleaning cycles, cartridge and pre-filter changes, pump checks, and inspection for leaks.
- Test and record water quality parameters (pH, EC, alkalinity, hardness) across source, treated, and greenhouse delivery points.
- Support dosing and calibration of fertilizer injection and water treatment equipment.
- Track water usage and identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Follow safety procedures for handling water treatment chemicals and report abnormalities to the Facilities Manager.
Qualifications
- Background, coursework, or hands-on experience in engineering, environmental science, chemistry, agriculture, water treatment, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of chemistry and/or fluid systems.
- Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping habits.
- Willingness to work in a greenhouse/industrial environment and follow safety protocols.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Experience with water treatment, filtration, or RO systems.
- Comfort with basic data logging and spreadsheets.
