Light

Water

Haworthia Limifolia is Haworthiopsis limifolia (formerly Haworthia limifolia), a small rosette succulent native to South Africa and nearby Eswatini. Like other haworthias, it’s an easy, shade-tolerant little houseplant — but with an unusually bold texture.
Its dark green leaves are firm and triangular, and crossed by raised, ridge-like bands that run along their length — a washboard-like surface that gives it its charming nickname, the “Fairy Washboard.” The leaves spiral neatly outward into a tight, geometric rosette.
It’s slow-growing and stays compact, clustering with offsets over time. The species name limifolia refers to those file-like (rasping) leaf ridges.
Care is easy: bright indirect light, gritty soil, and water only when fully dry.
