TENDER LOVING CARE

Orchids thrive in strong light. Avoid direct afternoon light though.

You will need to repot your orchid after buying but it’s important to wait until it quits blooming. Do not plant in potting soil. You will need to purchase or make your own orchid mix which would include moss, bark, cork, etc. This will provide a slightly acidic environment for your orchid.

Orchids need very little water. They will need dry periods alternated with heavy watering. Water weekly in the summer and reduce to monthly in the winter. Do not allow to sit in water, this plant is susceptible to root rot. Misting in the winter will help it stay hydrated but don’t mist too heavily.

Fertilize weekly in the summer with an orchid fertilizer. Don’t fertilize in the winter.
