This is not a full-sun item. Give your Luna hibiscus gentle morning sun or bright part shade, and protect it from harsh, direct afternoon sun — intense sun stresses the plant and shortens the life of those huge blooms.
Water — changes with the seasons
Summer: when hot temperatures hit, water every day. The Luna series descends from a wetland-native rose mallow and should never dry out in the heat, especially in a pot. Drooping leaves mean it’s thirsty.
Cold months: as temperatures drop, the plant slows down and goes dormant, and its watering needs lessen considerably — shift to occasional watering, just enough that the roots don’t sit bone-dry or soggy.

Use a rich potting mix that holds moisture well, and feed regularly through the warm growing season to keep the big buds coming.

The Luna series is a modern, compact selection of Hibiscus moscheutos — the hardy hibiscus or rose mallow, a perennial native to the streambanks and wetlands of North America. Winter-hardy in USDA zones 5–9, it returns from its roots year after year.
That wetland heritage explains its thirst: when summer temperatures hit, it wants water daily, especially in a pot. During the cold months the schedule changes — the plant dies back and rests, and watering lessens to just an occasional drink.
