Sansevieria Hahnii
Dracaena trifasciata ‘Hahnii’ · Species native to West Africa
The Bird’s Nest Snake Plant — a compact rosette of short, upright, banded leaves. Nearly indestructible, drought-tolerant, and a proven air purifier, it’s perfect for desks, shelves, and low-light corners.
Available in 6 inchCare
Light
Extremely adaptable — it tolerates low light but grows best and keeps its banding in bright, indirect light. Avoid harsh, prolonged direct sun.
Water
Let the soil dry out completely between waterings, then water thoroughly. Water sparingly, especially in winter. Overwatering and soggy soil are the only real ways to harm it.
Soil & Feeding
Use a fast-draining cactus or succulent mix in a pot with drainage. Feed lightly once or twice during the growing season.

Plant Bio
Dracaena trifasciata ‘Hahnii’ (formerly Sansevieria) · the Bird’s Nest Snake Plant
Hahnii is the dwarf, rosette-forming form of the classic snake plant. Instead of tall, sword-like leaves, its short leaves spiral outward from the center in a tight, funnel-shaped “bird’s nest” that rarely tops six to eight inches — perfect for desks, shelves, and tabletops.
The species hails from West Africa, and like all snake plants it’s built to survive tough, dry conditions, which is exactly why it’s one of the easiest houseplants you can own.
It shrugs off low light (though bright, indirect light keeps its cross-banding crisp), stores water in its thick leaves, and only asks that you let it dry out fully before watering again. The one thing it won’t forgive is staying wet, so err on the side of underwatering. It’s also one of the best-known air-purifying houseplants.
Compact, sculptural, and virtually foolproof — a great starter plant.
