Sansevieria trifasciata ‘Hahnii Green’ · the Green Bird’s Nest Snake Plant
Green Hahnii is the original “bird’s nest” snake plant — a naturally compact, rosette-forming sport of Sansevieria trifasciata discovered in the 1930s and the parent of all the colorful Hahnii selections that followed. It stays low and vase-shaped rather than sending up the tall blades of a standard snake plant.
This is the plain-green version: solid, deep-green leaves with subtle darker banding, forming a neat little nest. Its understated, classic look goes with any décor and fits neatly on a desk, shelf, or nightstand.
Care is the same effortless snake-plant routine: it tolerates low and medium light (even artificial light), stores water in its leaves, and only wants watering once the soil is dry, in a gritty, fast-draining mix. Overwatering is the one thing to avoid. It’s also a proven air purifier.
