Plant Bio
Mammillaria matudae · also called the Finger Cactus
Native to the rocky hillsides of Michoacán and Guerrero in Mexico, Mammillaria matudae is a slender, cylindrical cactus that earns its common name from its distinctive finger-like stems.
Its dark green body is covered in neat, spiraling tubercles tipped with fine white spines. Over time it clusters naturally, producing a small colony of slender upright stems that fills its pot attractively.
It blooms reliably in spring with rings of small pink to carmine flowers near the crown — making it as attractive in flower as it is in form throughout the rest of the year.
What makes it special?
- Its slender, upright form is distinct from the typical globular Mammillaria shape.
- Clusters naturally, creating an attractive multi-stemmed display over time.
- Dark green body provides excellent contrast against its pale spines and pink flowers.
Note: Fine spines — handle with care. Keep away from children and pets. Grown for ornamental purposes only.
