Hercules Echeveria
Echeveria ‘Hercules’ · Garden hybrid
True to its name, a large, bold hybrid with wide, open rosettes of broad, wavy blue-green leaves edged in pink. A real centerpiece succulent — and pet-friendly.
Available in 4½ inchCare
Light
Thrives in bright, indirect to direct light, which keeps its big rosette compact and brings out the pink leaf margins. In low light it stretches and the color fades.
Water
Water only when the soil is completely dry. It stores moisture in its fleshy leaves and is highly drought-tolerant — use a pot with good drainage to avoid root rot.
Soil & Feeding
Use a well-draining cactus or succulent soil, and fertilize lightly once a month during spring and summer.
Quick Tip
Water at the soil line rather than into the rosette — water pooling in the center can cause rot.

Plant Bio
Echeveria ‘Hercules’
Hercules is a cultivated hybrid echeveria, bred from the rosette succulents native to Mexico and Central America. As the name promises, it’s grown for size — one of the larger, bolder echeveria cultivars you’ll find.
It forms wide, open rosettes of broad, gently wavy leaves in a soft powder blue-green, finished with rosy-pink margins that deepen in bright light. That combination of generous size and pastel coloring makes it a natural centerpiece in pots and arrangements.
It offsets over time and can send up tall, arching stalks of bell-shaped flowers. Because the rosette gets large and open, good light is important to keep it full and compact rather than stretched.
Care is classic echeveria: bright light, gritty soil, and a thorough drink only once the soil dries out.
What makes it special?
- It’s one of the larger echeveria cultivars — a true statement plant.
- Broad, wavy blue-green leaves with pink margins.
- Like other echeverias, it’s easy and pet-friendly.
Note: Echeverias are generally considered non-toxic and pet-safe, but are grown for ornament rather than eating. Water carefully — overwatering is the main risk.
