Flying Cloud Echeveria
Echeveria ‘Decora’ · Native to Mexico
A soft, powdery blue-green echeveria that blushes pink at the leaf edges in bright light and offsets freely into charming clusters. Easy, pretty, and pet-friendly.
Available in 4½ inchCare
Light
Thrives in bright, indirect to direct light. Strong light keeps the rosette compact and brings out the soft pink margins; low light causes stretching.
Water
Water only when the soil is completely dry. It stores moisture in its fleshy leaves and is highly drought-tolerant — use a pot with good drainage to avoid root rot.
Soil & Feeding
Use a well-draining cactus or succulent soil, and fertilize lightly once a month during spring and summer.
Quick Tip
Its leaves wear a powdery coating — handle by the pot and water at the soil line to keep that soft bloom intact.

Plant Bio
Echeveria ‘Decora’ · “Flying Cloud”
Flying Cloud is a classic cultivated echeveria, derived from the rosette succulents native to Mexico. It’s a long-popular, easygoing variety — the kind of dependable echeveria that fills out dish gardens and rock plantings beautifully.
It forms rosettes of soft, rounded leaves in a powdery blue-green, each finished with a fine waxy bloom. In bright light the leaf edges pick up gentle pink tones, giving it a cloud-soft, pastel look. Best of all, it offsets freely, quickly building into clusters of little rosettes.
Mature plants send up arching stalks of bell-shaped flowers. Its generous clustering and soft color make it a favorite for containers and mixed arrangements.
Care is classic echeveria: bright light, gritty soil, and water only once the soil dries out.
What makes it special?
- Soft, powdery blue-green leaves with delicate pink margins.
- It offsets very freely, forming full clusters.
- Like other echeverias, it’s easy and pet-friendly.
Note: Echeverias are generally considered non-toxic and pet-safe, but are grown for ornament rather than eating. Water carefully — overwatering is the main risk.
