Echeveria Holy Gate
Echeveria ‘Holy Gate’ · Garden hybrid
An elaborate, ruffled echeveria whose layered rosettes look almost like a blooming flower, in soft green, pink, and lavender. A true showpiece — and pet-friendly.
Available in 4½ inchCare
Light
Thrives in bright, indirect to direct light, which keeps the rosette compact and the pastel colors saturated. In low light it stretches and loses its tight, ruffled form.
Water
Water only when the soil is completely dry. It stores moisture in its fleshy leaves and is highly drought-tolerant — use a pot with good drainage to avoid root rot.
Soil & Feeding
Use a well-draining cactus or succulent soil, and fertilize lightly once a month during spring and summer.
Quick Tip
Water at the soil line — the dense, ruffled center traps water easily and can rot if it stays wet.

Plant Bio
Echeveria ‘Holy Gate’ · a ruffled hybrid echeveria
Holy Gate is a cultivated hybrid echeveria, bred from the rosette succulents native to Mexico and Central America. It belongs to the “ruffled” or “galaxy” style of echeveria hybrids that are prized for their elaborate, wavy-edged leaves.
It forms large, many-layered rosettes whose leaves crimp and ruffle at the margins, building a dense, intricate shape that looks more like an opening flower than a typical succulent. The coloring is soft and pastel — cool green washed with pink and lavender, shifting with the light and seasons.
It stays a generous rosette and, with maturity, may offset and send up arching flower stalks. Because the ruffled center is so dense, it appreciates careful watering and good airflow.
Care is classic echeveria: bright light for compact form and color, gritty soil, and water only once the soil dries out.
What makes it special?
- Its heavily ruffled, layered rosettes look almost like a bloom.
- Soft pastel green, pink, and lavender tones give it an elegant look.
- Like other echeverias, it’s easy and pet-friendly.
Note: Echeverias are generally considered non-toxic and pet-safe, but are grown for ornament rather than eating. Water carefully — overwatering is the main risk.
