Zygo Cactus is an easy plant to grow. It does well in most home environments. This plant will grow in low light conditions but will only bloom when exposed to indirect bright light. By the end of the flowering season, it needs to become dormant. In order to achieve this it needs less light (12-14 hours of darkness), lower humidity and a cooler environment.
Water when the top inch of soil becomes dry. To stimulate blooming, cut back on water during the fall and winter months.
This plant is a succulent but it does like humidity. Most home environments will be humid enough but if it is too dry, you can place a tray of pebbles and water below the pot. Just make sure it is not sitting in the water. It will also enjoy misting. Do not over water!
Feed monthly from late winter to late summer with a bloom formula houseplant fertilizer.
Common Name: They are normally named according to their flowering season: Christmas cactus, Thanksgiving cactus, Crab cactus and Holiday cactus.
